and they are negative! thank goodness! i heard gestational diabetes is one of the biggest annoyances and inconveniences of being pregnant so i'm glad i'm not affected. all the tests came back normal, with the exception of my iron levels (again!). in an earlier post, i mentioned that i had to take iron pills to help with my (very common) pregnancy anemia. the blood results showed that i'm still very low on iron, even with the current supplements i'm taking, so my doctor called me this morning to tell me that i need to up my iron dosage. i was NOT happy about this. this might be TMI for some of you, but iron pills make you VERY constipated and given that i was already having this problem, i'm scared of how much more "backed up" i'll be after my new dosage. :(
on a different note, babies are rarely born iron deficient, so the iron pills are mostly for me. the baby is doing well these days and definitely growing at a much faster pace... i can literally feel my skin stretch and burn as the days go by. her kicks are getting stronger and eric and i are witnessing moving body parts through my belly on a daily basis. things are getting very tight in there!!!
the pounds are packing on steadily as well. i'm starting to see the weight in my face a little and in the words of another pregnant friend of mine, i already "can't wait to get my face back." i've been religiously elevating my feet to help with swelling of the ankles, too. one thing that hasn't gone away is my insatiable hunger for SWEETS. i'll get another pic up so you can see my "pregger face" soon.
