sorry i've been behind on the blog everyone!

we've been really busy these past couple weeks.

last weekend, we had our co-ed baby shower with all of our family and close friends. the shower was a huge success. a big special thank you to all of you who came and to also to jen, ivy, kat & tina who helped make it a very special day for eric, me and baby. we got a TON of great stuff - you name it, we got it. clothes, bottles, diapers, bibs, blankets, burp cloths, bathtub, etc... we only have a couple more things we need to pick up from babies r' us and we'll be all set and ready to go!

the day after the shower, my dad (with the help of ivy and jen) held a private maternity photo session for eric and I. dad set up a little photo studio for us in the garage. they all did a great job and were really getting into it! there are a ton of pics so they are still in the process of selecting and editing the best shots. a few of them are included here so you can take a quick peek.

eric attended his "dad's labor support" class yesterday. he said it was OK. if anything, he said he now knows his main focus for the big day is to support me and divert my pain as much as possible. :-) it's reassuring to know that i have a hubby who has been here with me every step of the way during this pregnancy and will be there for me for what could arguably be one of the most painful (and rewarding) experiences of my life. i love you so much eric!!!

i have my "breastfeeding basics" class on tuesday, so i'll update you guys on how that goes. the next couple things on my list are: packing the bag for hospital (including toiletries, a tennis ball to help with back pain, comfy pajamas, boppy, etc.), washing the babies clothes, installing the car seat in the car, and picking up a few more things are babies r us for the nursery.

speaking of the nursery, please don't think i've forgotten to get the pics posted. one of the items we were waiting on was our nursery glider/rocking chair. it was supposed to be delivered a couple days ago and we called to follow up only to find out that the manufacturer was backlogged by at least 3 weeks!! i was a bit upset considering we've waited 5 weeks already so we cancelled the order and plan to get a different nursing chair. once we do, we'll for sure take pics and get them posted.

with only a few weeks remaining, i am definitely feeling anxiety, excitement, tired, restlessness, and lots of joy all at the same time! what seemed like it was taking forever in the beginning is really flying by. i can't believe in just a few days, eric and i will be brand new parents and the "pregnancy magic" will all be over. i have to admit, i'm kinda looking forward to having my body back (i could do without the swollen hands and feet, backaches, and extra weight), but know that i will miss the special treatment i get from being pregnant.
